A CNID backend is basically a database storing ID <-> name mappings.To achieve this, several different CNID backends are available and can be choosed by the cnid scheme option in the afp.conf(5) configuration file. That seems reasonable since enp0s3 is not in /etc/network/interfaces.īut if I try to manually add it there I lose all conectivity. Netatalk needs to map IDs to files and folders in the host filesystem. I specified enp0s3 as my interface (last step of the guide) which is reported as unknown if I try to ifup. I succesfully did this using a raspberry pi but I want to free the Pi for another job so I thought I could do the same with a VB machine. The guide I've used is located at reddit (issue_connecting_via_netatalk_from_os_9_to ) under the VintageApple sub. I'm trying to configure an AFP server for older Macs (68k) from a Linux Mint v19 guest machine.
